Well, this cat harness works fine IF you cat never walks backwards!
Human sez: I’ll admit that it took me a while to get this configured correctly for “my” cat Mischief. Wasn’t sure so I went to their website and called their help line, for three days got the “we’re to busy and understaffed to help you” recording. I did review the directions and when testing it on her, it seemed to fit and hold. First walk was fine, the second walk a sudden noise startled her and she reversed course. There I was holding a leash, harness and no cat (fortunately she startled herself into a corner and let me grab here). Tried one more time, double checked the harness and took her to an enclosed area. She startled and this time the harness held, but she was snapping around on the bungie cord before I could catch her. Big question: WHY A BUNGIE CORD LEAD?
I really wanted to understand how she had slipped out of the harness, and figured out that as long as the cat remains in front of you, the tension will hold, but the harness can easily slip off if she stops or moves backwards. And knowing cats, it won’t take them long to figure out this escape route.
Your cat mileage may vary, but I would never use this again on any cat.
Mischief says: Humans, what are you thinking? I really didn’t appreciate being on a bungie cord, when I’m scared and need to run away, bouncing back and forth is NOT helpful. I will say that this thing was so light that I didn’t know I was wearing it until I needed to escape. I’ve decidedI I no longer wish to walk outside, and don’t recognize the part the harness is playing in my decision.
